Coronal Polishing for the Dental Assistant

For many years now there has been a critical shortage of Dental Hygienists in Arizona. As a result, the dental community has been unable to meet the demand for hygiene services, and has not been able to provide the public with the preventive care it so badly needs.

Coronal Polishing

In January 2006 the state of Arizona passed legislation creating a certification in Coronal Polishing for Dental Assistants. As a result, it is now possible for dental assistants to acquire new skills which allow them to assist the dental team in providing these much-needed services. A properly trained dental assistant certified in coronal polishing can literally help a dental practice to DOUBLE its hygiene production.

Chairside Dental Academy has been granted approval by the Arizona State Board for Private Post-secondary Education to provide this training in Coronal Polishing. Our course is organized to prepare the experienced dental assistant for BOTH the written and clinical sections of the Arizona Coronal Polishing Certification examination. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will have the required affidavits of clinical competence as required for certification.
